Summary
The Senior Professional IT leads the relationship between IT staff, plant leadership, and regional / global IT. Oversees implementation of technology solutions, whichalign to business strategies, Works closely with regional and local leadership to assess and addressuser and customer needs. Areas of responsibility include the complete environment of information systems and telecommunications activities, including determining user requirements, recommending practical solutions, and leading company-wide efforts to improve the effective use of technology.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Regional and Global Leadership teams toensure the IT strategy supports and is in alignment with the regional / global operational business strategy.
- Consolidate, analyze, prioritize (based on business returns), understand and document Regional and Plant IT requirements and gaps in pursuit of solutions.
- Consult with Leadership team to review project plans and to obtain project approval & funding.
- Singlepoint of contact with Regional Operations Directors and their team for IT status reporting, demand management, project tracking and issues escalation.
- Leverage IT economies of scale across the region, deliver IT best practices, and aggressively drive cost optimization efforts.
- Define and is responsible for the IT timing, requirements, and costs related to new start-up facilities and program launches, responsible for the creation of IT Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs) andsubsequent approvals for funding, and positions to rationalize resources and capital.
- Participate with regional and global IT leadership in developing communicating and implementing strategies for IT support services at the regional operations and plant levels. This includes leveraging regional and plant IT resources to accommodate special projects and support services throughout the entire operational region.
- Provide leadership and direction to plant management regarding plant IT staff in defining IT position responsibilities, recruitment, staff development, career planning, compensation definition, training, and performance appraisals.
- Lead and mentor Plant IT Staff to successful support of plant operations measured by timeliness, budget performance, quality, and customer satisfactions.
- Ensure and document adherence to standard technologies andpolicies. Security, and Business Operating System (BOS) processes throughout the Business Unit.
Qualifications
Education :
Bachelors level degree : Area of study : Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management field, or similar.
Skills and Experience :
5-9 minimum years of experience with one or more of the following; extensive implementation experience in IT Project Management, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management, including IPC, MES, Networking, Servers, ERP, Resource Scheduling, Preventative Maintenance Management, Warehouse Management, and Quality Management.1-3 minimum years of experience within the automotive industry.Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites,including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.Proven project management experience in the implementation of complex, integrated, global business applications in a discrete / repetitive manufacturing environment.Experience delivering projects in a manufacturing environment and comfortable in an internal setting.Demonstrated experience in budgetary management. Experience with IT lifestyle methodologies.Excellent team building and end user relationship skills.Highly proficient incommunicating and coordinating information technology solutions that thoroughly support business objectives.Strong communication and presentation skills.Demonstrated ability todevelop and lead a diverse team of IT professionals.Decisive leadership with ability to drive multi-functional business teams in resolving conflict, achieving consensus and reaching timelyagreement on common best practices and solutions.Strategic thinking and focuses on customer.
