FCS Marine is seeking a skilled Lead Marine Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems on marine vessels as well as being a leader in the department to lower level technicians. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of marine HVAC systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to ensuring comfort and safety aboard all vessels. Requirements : Key Responsibilities
- Installation : Install, calibrate, and test new marine HVAC and refrigeration systems in compliance with industry standards.
- Maintenance : Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure system reliability and longevity.
- Repair : Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in compressors, evaporators, condensers, and related components.
- Troubleshooting : Use diagnostic tools to quickly identify issues and provide effective solutions.
- Compliance : Ensure all work adheres to safety regulations, maritime standards, and company policies.
- Customer Service : Communicate clearly with vessel owners and captains, offering professional advice on system care.
- Team Collaboration : Work closely with fellow technicians and Manager to communicate and execute projects efficiently.
- Leadership : When necessary, assist in teaching fellow technicians and acting as a mentor towards them guiding them in knowledge as well as character development.
- Execution : Assist the Manager in overseeing technicians by acting as their eyes and ears in the field, ensuring effective communication, and coordinating projects to meet company standards.
Qualifications
Education : High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in HVAC or marine systems preferred.Experience : Minimum of 5 years in marine HVAC or a related role.Skills :Strong knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and marine systems
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipmentAbility to interpret technical manuals and schematicsExcellent problem-solving and attention to detailCertifications :EPA Section 608 (Universal) Certification required
Additional marine / electrical certifications a plusPhysical Requirements
Ability to work in confined spaces and at heightsCapable of lifting and carrying heavy equipmentWillingness to work in varying environmental conditionsAdditional Requirements
