JAMA (requirements management)Altium (electrical design)SolidWorks (mechanical design)Position Summary The Principal Systems Engineer will be a key technical leader supporting all phases of new platform development—from concept and technology development through commercialization and post-market support.
This role partners with marketing, medical affairs, physicians, and user experience researchers to define and refine user and design requirements. Activities include preclinical and formative studies, hands-on collaboration with physicians, and integrating user feedback into design iterations.
The engineer will architect, design, select, and evaluate critical system components, software architecture, and hardware for electromechanical devices, including single-use disposables and consoles used in ablation procedures.

Architect, design, develop, test, and transfer electromechanical systems and disposables for Class II medical devicesDeliver system diagrams, architecture development, GUI development, component selection, subsystem design, prototypes, and V&V activitiesCollaborate with internal stakeholders to translate user needs into engineering requirementsOptimize designs based on testing and feedbackPartner with external vendors to accelerate product development and testingCreate design documentation (concept diagrams, specifications, requirements, test plans, V&V reports)Serve as a hands-on technical resource , contributing directly to mechanical, electrical, and software problem-solvingLead by example, mentoring junior engineers and driving cross-disciplinary collaborationQualifications :
Education : degree in Electrical, Software, or related engineering discipline (advanced degree preferred)Experience : + years in electronics and system design for new product developmentExperience working with marketing and clinical teams to develop user needs and requirementsStrong technical expertise in software-driven electromechanical medical devicesBroad engineering expertise across multiple disciplines; prior experience with ablation devices is a strong plusExperience with single-use disposable devicesProven ability to create clear, thorough product design documentationAmpcus is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
