We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our team serving as the building department for the State of Georgia. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing structural plans and specifications, ensuring compliance with state codes and standards, and providing detailed written feedback on commercial building projects. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working in a stable, team-oriented environment with excellent benefits and work-life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Review structural plans and specifications for compliance with applicable building codes and standards.
  • Provide written comments and recommendations on projects under review.
  • Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, electrical engineers, fire inspectors, and other professionals.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, adapting to different personalities and managing discussions constructively.
  • Utilize Excel to document, analyze, and track review processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Structural Engineer.
  • Proven experience with commercial building structures (steel frame, concrete frame, pre-engineered buildings, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders and personalities.
