STV is seeking an Architectural Field Representative to join our Buildings division in our New York office. As a Field Inspector you will play a significant part in the success of planning, organizing, and implementing project tasks. Excellent communication, attention to detail and an ability to work well in a team environment are considered critical to this position. We are looking for individuals with motivation and eagerness to expand their skillset in infrastructure construction.
Responsibilities
- The technical field representative is stationed full-time at a construction site (Mid-Hudson project) in New Hampton, NY.
- The technical field representative shall assist in ensuring that the work conforms to the contract document and that the quality of the work meets acceptable standards.
- Perform on-site observations of the progress and quality of work and observe tests required by the contract document to determine if the work is being performed in a manner so that when completed it will be in conformance with the contract documents.
- Notify the client and contractor immediately if the work does not conform to the contract document or requires special inspections or testing.
- The consultant shall issue an NCR for all work that does not confirm to the contract document.
- Respond to various requests for information from the contractor and provide interpretation of contract documents.
- Develop design solutions, including sketches to address construction challenges, or in support of requests for information.
- Review requests for Change Orders by the contractor and submit them, together with recommendations, to the client for review and approval.
- Attend meetings as directed by the client and contractor and report the proceedings.
- Attend and participate in site meetings initiated by the client and prepare meeting minutes.
- Maintain a logbook of activities at the site, including weather conditions, nature and location of work being performed, verbal instructions and interpretations given to the contractor and specific observations.
- Record any occurrence or work that might result in a claim for a change.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in architecture or equivalent experience and education.At least 5 years of experience is required, preferably with projects in the educational field; 10 years of experience if you do not possess a degree.Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) project experience is a plus.RA is preferred but not required.Compensation Range
$91,314.21 - $121,752.28
