Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Stepdown Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 10 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Stepdown Resource Pool Registered Nurse (RN) Location : Christiansburg, VA Start Date : November 10, 2025 We are seeking a highly adaptable and experienced Stepdown RN to join the Resource Pool at a dynamic acute care facility. This is a night shift travel contract with a preferred ASAP start and options for 13 to 26 weeks. Candidates must be clinically strong, flexible, and comfortable floating across multiple units. Key Responsibilities : Provide patient care across all PCU / Stepdown and Medical-Surgical units Support CCU and ED coverage with appropriate competencies Manage patient ratios of up to 1 : 5 in high-acuity settings Float to different units as needed, with potential reassignment every 4 hours based on hospital needs Document care accurately using Epic (RN-level experience required) Schedule Details : Night shift : 3x12-hour (19 : 00–07 : 00) 13-week contract with option to extend up to 26 weeks All requested time off must be submitted upfront Qualifications : Minimum 2 years of recent Stepdown / PCU experience Proven ability to manage 1 : 5 ratios Comfortable floating across units and adapting to changing assignments Experience using Epic as an RN (required) Required Certifications : BLS ACLS Patient Population : Progressive care and medical-surgical patients Additional coverage for critical care and emergency departments as needed This role is ideal for experienced travel nurses who thrive in fast-paced environments and are ready to support a wide range of units.
