Summary
The Epic Analyst is responsible for providing analysis, build, implementation, support, maintenance, development and coordination of activities of assigned applications and acts as a liaison between vendors, teams, customers and technical staff. They should be knowledgeable about policies, procedures, and operations in a healthcare setting. They participate in regular day-to-day communication with other project teams and work with vendors and community based Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure the application build fits the organization's and community integration needs. They participate in the development of workflows, data collection and analysis, reporting, and other technical issues associated with the use of the application software. They participate in developing and documenting the standard build procedures that will be used in conjunction with other vendor applications.
Responsibilities
- Analysis / Build : Participate in analysis, build, testing, documentation and implementation of optimization or projects related to informatics. Interact, plan and schedule activities with customers to determine information needs and objectives; assess current state of workflows and application configurations; identify and document end user needs and requirements; build and test application software to meet identified needs and requirements; assure a consistent approach is followed throughout the project.
- Project Plan / Lead : Develop and maintain project plans within expectations and cost constraints; liaise across departments, technical staff and / or vendors to define and meet objectives; ensure realistic timelines; monitor and report progress; provide formal status reports; escalate issues as appropriate.
- Maintenance : Ensure timely completion of routine maintenance for assigned applications; coordinate maintenance development, troubleshooting, and testing activities between teams and vendors; facilitate enhancement requests; serve as day-to-day contact for vendor maintenance / outages.
- Change Control / Testing : Ensure smooth transitions from build to test to production; follow change control policies; create / update test scripts; document workflow and software changes; communicate changes to affected teams; follow up on issues to resolution.
- Training : Communicate changes to trainers and end users; ensure content consistency; collaborate on tips / tricks documents and intranet communications for end users.
- Problem Solving / Support : Demonstrate knowledge and troubleshoot; adhere to issue management procedures; document, track, and follow up on incidents; coordinate with vendors; submit enhancement requests; complete tickets per SLA metrics.
- Reporting / Dashboards / Data Extract and Exchange : Determine reporting, dashboard and data extract needs; plan and schedule activities; develop and maintain reports and dashboards; ensure consistency in report writing and data processes.
