This job assumes responsibility for strategic planning, oversight and technical coordination of voice telecommunications for OHS and affiliates. Establishes departmental objectives, policy and procedures with emphasis on service quality and reliability, directs daily operations of the voice telecommunications staff and coordinates departmental functions with other managers within Information Services, provides operational analysis and optimizes performance of voice communications services to effectively support the patient care and business operations of the organization and provides analysis and hardware solutions for all Facilities Development projects to ensure effective integration of new and renovated facilities into the telecommunications infrastructure. Participates in equipment life-cycle planning and the capital acquisition process and reviews and integrates technology developments which will enhance the telecommunication / unified communications infrastructure.

Education
Required - High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred - Bachelor's degree in Voice Communications, Information Technology or related field
Work Experience
Required - 10 years experience in the voice communications field OR 5 years experience in voice communications with a Bachelor's degree

Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and / or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly : activity or condition exists 2 / 3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work : (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and / or pulling of arm or leg controls; and / or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and / or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. NOTE : The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.
Must be able to sit / stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to stoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity. Must be able to work a flexible schedule (e.g. 24 / 7, weekend, holiday, on call availability). Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue and as part of their employment, incumbents are not called upon to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid. There is no occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.
