Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Building Systems Technician manages daily operation, maintenance, and repairs of power plant and HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, pumps, generators, fire alarms, pneumatic tube, and sprinkler systems. The role involves troubleshooting, testing, inspecting, and repairing various medical and non-medical equipment and building systems, including electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. The technician must work independently, make quick decisions, and communicate effectively to ensure high-quality patient care and customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions

• Operate Power Plant, HVAC, and other building systems; document work in the CMMS.
• Repair, install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot equipment, ensuring high-quality, uninterrupted service. Maintain certifications and licensing as required.
• Conduct daily inspections of boilers, pipelines, vessels, meters, and gauges; adjust systems for efficiency and occupant demands.
• Maintain technical expertise to ensure safety, code compliance, and operational efficiency; treat systems chemically as needed.
• Respond promptly and courteously to customer requests, resolving issues to high satisfaction.
• Assist colleagues with projects and maintenance tasks, providing expertise in system repair and maintenance.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair patient care equipment, including lighting, beds, nurse call, sinks, etc.
• Stay updated on laws, regulations, standards, and codes related to Power Plants and HVAC systems; train others as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
