Description
Summary :
The Mammography Technologist Lead is to be an advanced,
experienced user of the various procedures performed within the
breasts center and able to demonstrate mastery of all hospital or
clinical-level imaging competencies. The Mammography Lead is
responsible for coordinating patient scheduling, and daily work
assignments, and serves as a resource for the mammography
technologists in the breast center. Helps to ensure operations
function at top levels of efficiency and exceed customer
expectations while maintaining a safe and caring experience for the
patients. Helps to ensure patient privacy at all times. Also helps
to coordinate the training and development of the mammography
technologists, keeping them advised of technological and procedure
changes and participating in their growth and competency
requirements. Observe radiation, personnel, and patient safety
measures. Maintains Quality Control / Quality Assurance in
accordance with MQSA programs and ACR, FDA, and State standards and
regulations. Assures that all documentation is accurately recorded
and kept in an organized manner susceptible to instant inspection
if needed. Excellent communication skills are necessary.

Ensures compliance with all policies,
procedures, and standards of care as deemed appropriate by State
and Federal agencies, the hospital, and other regulatory
entities.
Coordinates / prioritizes imaging
procedures throughout the workday, maintaining a high level of
patient care and continuity.
Performs
examinations / procedures as needed to assist in patient
throughput.
Demonstrates flexibility by working
other shifts and at other campuses as needed or
required.
Ensures completed exams are scanned
and stored correctly in PACS.
Ability to follow
PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and escalate any
problem(s) or issue(s) to the PACS administrator or Designee if
needed.
Troubleshoots and reports any equipment
malfunctions to the Director / Manager / Supervisor and / or Biomedical
personnel; does appropriate follow-up.
Performs
other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements : Education / Skills
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology
Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent
required
Experience
1 year of experience in medical imaging
required
2 years of mammography experience
preferred
Basic computer experience
required
Licenses,
Registrations, or Certifications
Mammography (M) by ARRT is
required
State Licensure required
Texas : MRT by
