Qualifications
Required Education :
Associate degree in nursing.Successful completion of a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) program accredited by the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN).Preferred Education :
Bachelor’s degree in nursing.Required Experience :
Two (2) years of perioperative registered nursing experience.Preferred Experience :
Two (2) years of perioperative first assistance experience.Required Certification / License / Registry :
Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in accordance with Florida Statutes (F.S.), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I (Nurse Practice Act) [includes multistate compact licensure].Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) certified instructor.Preferred Certification / License / Registry :
One or more of the following :Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) credential from AORN.
Registered Nurse Assistant at Surgery (RNAS-C) credential from the National Assistant at Surgery Certification (NASC).Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) credential from NASC.Responsibilities
Your Role :
Dedicated to CT Surgery, in collaboration with the surgical team (and others), participates in surgical patients’ perioperative assessments.Assists surgeons (under direction / supervision of the same) during surgical or invasive operative procedures.Participates in postoperative rounds and treatments; evaluates patients’ progress toward obtaining desired outcomes.Assess patients’ and / or family members’ knowledge level; provides appropriate education to same.Performs miscellaneous duties not expressly described herein.Reports To :
