Position Summary :

The Unit Manager / House Supervisor is a full-time leadership position responsible for the clinical oversight of a designated nursing unit and facility. This professional ensures high-quality resident care, great customer service, regulatory compliance, and promotes staff development.

Key Responsibilities :

Provide direct supervision to nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs) on the assigned unit.

Ensure proper staffing, delegation, and continuity of care for all residents.

Monitor and evaluate resident care plans for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.

Lead daily clinical team meetings, participate in care plan conferences, and contribute to discharge planning.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and department heads to ensure comprehensive resident care.

Monitor and manage infection control, fall prevention, behavior management, and medication administration compliance.

Serve as a liaison between residents, families, and staff to ensure satisfaction and effective communication.

Assist with orientation, training, and performance evaluation of nursing staff.

Qualifications : Licensure :

Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan.

Experience :

Minimum of 2–3 years of nursing experience in long-term care or skilled nursing.

Previous leadership or unit management experience strongly preferred.

Skills & Abilities :

Strong leadership, team-building, and conflict-resolution skills.

Proficient in EMR systems and documentation practices.

Excellent communication, organization, and clinical decision-making abilities.

Knowledge of state and federal regulations, including infection control and resident rights.

Work Schedule & Conditions :

Full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends, holidays, or after-hours support as needed. Flex schedule to cover evening hours.

Physical requirements include frequent walking, standing, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Reports directly to the Director of Nursing (DON) or Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON).

Maintains a dependable attendance record and adheres to standards of cleanliness, grooming, hygiene, and dress code.
