Description
The clinical research nurse is at the front line of medical innovation, helping research teams test the lates treatments and clinical assessments. Our highly trained and skilled nurses are the front-line staff involved in administering these new compounds to research participants via multiple routes, including, but not limited to, IV, IM, SC, PO, Topical, Inhalation etc. Then monitor the research participants health status around the clock as per the trial protocol to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
The clinical research nurse for the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science (ICTS) will be an integral member of the team who specializes in delivering professional nursing care focused on maintaining balance between safety of the research participant and the fidelity to the research protocol interfacing with administration, clinical nursing staff, research staff, physicians, patients and families.

About ICTS : The Institute for Clinical and Translational Science (ICTS) at the University of Iowa was approved by the Iowa Board of Regents in 2007 to support the work of investigators involved in clinical and translational science. Our mission is to accelerate translational science through programs to develop the translational workforce, to promote engagement of community members and other stakeholders, to promote research integration across the lifespan, and to catalyze innovative clinical and translational research. These efforts will lead to the development of novel therapies and healthcare delivery strategies, the integration of translational research and clinical practice, and, ultimately to measurable improvements in the health of Iowa and the nation.
