About The Position

ICU Registered Nurse

Profession : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12 hours (18 : 00 - 06 : 30)

Experience : Minimum 2 years' experience required

License : Must have an active state license to apply

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIH required

Must-Have :

Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response Skills / Experience

Interpretation of dysrhythmias

Management of dysrhythmias

Obtain 12 lead EKG

Pre / Post Cardiac Cath / intervention skills / experience

Chronic / Acute Renal failure experience

IV therapy skills / experience including :

Accessing ports, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care / management, PICC line management, Starting IVs

Medication Experience : Continuous IV sedation, Emergency medications, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips

CVA / Acute Stroke management experience

Respiratory / Thoracic Skills / Experience :

Assist with management of BiPAP

Assist with management of CPAP

Care of Ventilated Patient

High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)

Interpretation of ABGs

Suctioning (ETT, NT)

Ventilator Management

Professional Topics and Skills :

Infection Prevention

Isolation Precautions / Use of PPE

Code blue / rapid response

Description :

The position is for an ICU RN with Cardiac experience or CVICU experience.

Responsibilities include managing a patient ratio of 1 : 2.

Candidates should have experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response.

Skills in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias are essential.

The role requires obtaining and interpreting 12 lead EKGs.

Experience in chronic and acute renal failure management is also necessary.

Candidates must possess IV therapy skills, including accessing ports and managing central lines.

Medication experience includes the administration of emergency medications and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips.

Experience in CVA and acute stroke management is required.

Candidates should be skilled in respiratory care, particularly in the management of ventilated patients and the use of CPAP / BiPAP.

An understanding of infection prevention and rapid response protocols is necessary for this role.

Weekends are required, with every other weekend expected.

Candidates must be prepared to float within the facility to meet needs as required.

This is a high-acuity unit that provides care for adult patients with complex cardiac and medical conditions.
