We are seeking a head chef for a long term temporary to possible direct hire position in the NYC area.
Requirements :
- Oversee preparation and cooking of 800+ meals daily.
- Ensure HDM meals are packed for delivery each morning.
- Serve meals to seniors and support special events.
- Provide meals and snacks for childcare and other agency programs.
- Cater agency events, including holidays and private functions.
- Attend meetings, trainings, and case conferences.
- Assist with daily oversight of the senior center and respond to emergencies.
- Complete and submit reports on time.
Qualifications :
Food Protection Certificate as issued by the NYC Department of Health andMental Hygiene.Proven experience as a Head Chef and in kitchen management.Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Experience preparing meals for 500+ and meeting nutrition guidelines.Proficient in MS Office, POS, and restaurant management software.CPR, AED, and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain).Ability to lift heavy items, stand long hours, and work flexible schedules.Skilled at supervising and training staff.We are an equal opportunity employer and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices laws.
