Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an RN with at least one year of experience, Illinois RN license, and Level 1 Trauma and Epic experience for a day shift position in an Observation medical unit.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in an Observation medical unit within a hospital setting
  • Provides care to patients requiring observation and ongoing assessment
  • Day shift schedule from 7 : 00AM to 7 : 30PM, typically 36 hours per week
  • Utilizes Epic EMR for charting and documentation
  • Patient population includes adults requiring acute observation and medical care
  • Responsible for completing initial patient assessments and developing care plans based on patient and family needs
  • Maintains high standards of documentation as evidenced by quarterly chart audits
  • Expected to attend at least five out of six staff meetings per year
  • Must assess IV sites every four hours, start new IVs as needed, and respond appropriately to any change in patient status
  • RTO (requested time off) may not exceed 7 days during the 13-week contract
  • Candidates may not have been on continuous assignment at the client for more than one year; a 6-month break is required before returning
  • No travel partners accepted for this position

  • Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
  • At least one year of recent nursing experience required
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required and must be documented
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • ASN required; BSN preferred
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify
