The Senior Business Process Reengineer supports the Department of Education's Office of Educational Supports (OES) in improving and maintaining the Consolidated Application within the NexSys platform , a critical system for distributing federal formula grants to Local Education Agencies (LEAs). This role acts as a strategic liaison across business and technical teams to ensure streamlined processes, compliance, and system functionality.
Process Analysis & Improvement :
Review and document existing grant-related business processes and workflows.Identify opportunities for process optimization and recommend best-practice improvements.Analyze federal policy changes and provide OES with guidance on necessary application updates.Stakeholder Engagement & Communication :
Facilitate meetings with internal teams, field consultants, and external partners.Serve as the primary point of contact for field consultants on application-related issues.Communicate project updates, resolutions, and timelines to stakeholders.Operational & Technical Liaison :
Manage and prioritize operational support requests and enhancement tickets within Azure DevOpsCollaborate with technical teams (OSET, DTMB, and vendors) to ensure timely issue resolution.Translate business needs into clear, actionable technical requirementsLeadership & Team Coordination :
Lead and mentor a team of business analysts.Facilitate requirement-gathering sessions to align project goals and deliverables.Ensure consistent communication and coordination across project teams.Documentation & Knowledge Management :
Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation on SharePointEnsure decisions and process updates are properly tracked for reference and compliance.Required Experience :
Proven experience in business process reengineering or business analysisStrong knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)Experience leading teams in cross-functional or government program settings.Nice-to-Have Experience :
Experience with grant management systems or federally funded programs.Prior work within government or education environments.Required Skills :
