Responsibilities Position is in a Level III NICU at a community hospital Primarily cares for premature infants, respiratory distress, multiples, LPI, ELBW, hypoglycemic, sepsis, and occasional surgical patients Patient acuity ranges from highly acute to feeder / grower cases with census between 5 and 20 Nurses float to PICU and general pediatrics, including units with VTM and Eating Disorder Medical Stabilization patients Night shifts are 3x12 hours, 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM Self-scheduling is available within unit needs Epic is used for documentation Nurses attend high-risk deliveries, utilize Bubble CPAP, handle PICC lines, perform infant-driven feeds, and draw labs Required to schedule 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period Must not request holiday RTO and maximum 7 days off during contract Supportive and team-oriented unit culture Centralized Milk Handling; assignments allow time for parent teaching and interaction Travelers are first to float according to unit needs Must complete modules during orientation; modules are self-reported First-time travelers are accepted with proper experience and fit Return staff must have been separated for at least one year before reapplying Requirements Active CA RN license in hand at time of application Minimum 3 years of NICU RN experience Current certifications in BCLS, PALS, and NRP Comfortable responding to potential RSI and codes Experience with Epic EMR preferred Must provide two recent supervisor-level references from within the last year Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-619452.
