Basic Purpose
Positions in this job are assigned responsibilities in leading and growing the IT capabilities and utilization of the agency. This position will converse about technical details with the supporting technical teams and provide executive level strategic, technical, and operating expertise and guidance to their customers.
Typical Functions
Creates and maintains timelines for development and deployment of technology services ensuring that the agency's needs are met; monitors key performance indicators and metrics affecting the agency; engages with technical team as needed to meet goals or address issues.
Functions as a single point of escalation for all IT related items within the agency including IT strategy, budget, resources, and issue resolution.
Keeps up to date on current OMES offerings to connect the agency with viable IT solutions; works with OMES security to reduce risk of breach and protect sensitive digital information.
Responds to feedback from stakeholders and uses it to make improvements or adjustments to technology.
Sets a technical vision and roadmap for the agency to include : maintaining knowledge of system infrastructure, application portfolio, IT budget, security standards, regulatory requirements, operational procedures, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
An in-depth knowledge of web systems architecture, design, and development; and of supervisory practices and principles. Ability to conduct technological analysis and research; to plan, direct, and coordinate the activity of others; to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; to organize and manage several projects simultaneously; and to analyze complex situations and adopt an appropriate course of action.

Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications : Master's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field.
