- STANDARDS OF PRACTICE : RN practice is guided by the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, detailing a competent level of nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN is tasked to collect relevant data, analyze it, develop care plans, coordinate care, promote health, and evaluate patient outcomes.\n
- STANDARDS OF PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE : The ANA Standards of Professional Performance outline behaviors expected of RNs, including ethics, culturally congruent practice, effective communication, collaboration, leadership, ongoing education, and resource utilization. The RN is accountable for their professional actions both to themselves and to society.\n\nQualifications\n\nEDUCATION : Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing; a BSN is preferred. New hires must have current BCLS certification or obtain it within the first month of employment.\n\nEXPERIENCE : This role serves as the foundational description for all Registered Nurses, who are encouraged to participate in SPIRE clinical advancement opportunities.\n\nLICENSURE : Must be a licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut. Advanced specialty certification is highly encouraged.\n\nSPECIAL SKILLS : All RNs are encouraged to pursue advancement through the SPIRE program to further enhance their professional capabilities.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMAND : This role requires prolonged standing and walking, as well as the ability to see, hear, and touch. There may be some exposure to infectious diseases and various patient conditions, including mental and emotional health challenges.
