Job Summary

Drive up to and including Class 8 trucks to transport materials to and from specified destinations. Correctly applies knowledge of commercial driving regulations and area roads.

Essential Responsibilities :

Drive 1 ton or class 7 / 8 trucks to transport materials to and from specified destinations.

Load and unload trucks as required.

Inspect truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.

Maintain daily inspection log.

Maintain telephone or radio contact with the plant staff members to receive the delivery or pick-up instructions.

Maintain a clean driving record.

Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

Must be physical able to push / pull up to 150 lbs.

Experience driving a manual 10 speed.

Ability to read letters and numbers.

Ability to communicate with the driver helper and the customer.

Ability to use basic math such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
