Police Service Technician I
This is the entry-level class in the Police Service Technician series. Positions in this class typically have little or no directly related work experience. The Police Service Technician I class is distinguished from the II level by the performance of less than the full range of duties assigned to the II level. Incumbents work under immediate supervision while learning job tasks, progressing to general supervision as procedures and processes of assigned area of responsibility are learned.
Supervision Received and Exercised : Receives immediate supervision from assigned management and / or supervisory personnel. May receive technical and functional supervision from the Police Services Supervisor. Exercises no supervision.

Qualifications
Any combination equivalent to experience and education that would most likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be :
Experience : One year of experience involving extensive contact with the public. Experience in a law enforcement environment is desirable.
Education : High school diploma or certified equivalent (GED); supplemental course work in law enforcement administration or related field is desirable.
