Description :

Experience in the operating room required.

Common diagnoses treated include appendicitis, cholelithiasis, degenerative disc disease, and degenerative joint disease.

The unit has a total of 8 beds.

The nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 1.

Age groups of patients include pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Charting is done using CPN and Cerner.

Scrub color is blue, and scrubs are provided by the facility.

Areas of float support include Operating Room, PACU, and Pre-Operative.

Special procedures performed include total joint replacement, robotic surgery, gynecological surgery, and neurosurgery.

Common equipment includes sterile instruments.

Additional specialties include orthopedics, neurology, plastics, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, general surgery, robotics, and trauma at a Level III facility.

Call requirement is included, with an average of 4 calls per month (1 weekend day and 3 weekdays).

Weekend call is from 0600 to 0600.

Weekday call is from the end of the shift until 0600.

Float requirement exists within skill set if needed.
