Work Location : In-person (Northville, MI and Westland, MI, various other state & federal courts
About the Role
Fausone & Grysko, PLC is seeking a motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This is a full-time, in-person position offering the opportunity to work on a wide range of civil and municipal matters, including litigation, transactional work, and assistant city attorney / prosecutor duties. The ideal candidate will be eager to grow professionally, take ownership of case work, and contribute meaningfully to client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and analysis on complex legal issues
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and other legal documents
- Support with case preparation for hearings, trials, and negotiations
- Represent clients in court proceedings, administrative hearings, and other legal forums
- Negotiate settlements, contracts, and other agreements on behalf of clients
- Maintain and manage case files and documentation with a high level of accuracy
- Collaborate with internal team members and external parties to develop effective legal strategies
Assistant City Attorney Duties
As part of your responsibilities, you will also serve as an Assistant City Attorney / Prosecutor , representing local municipal clients in criminal and civil matters. This includes :
Prosecuting misdemeanor offenses and ordinance violationsCollaborating with law enforcement, city officials, and crime victimsAdvocating for victims' rights and public safetyHandling a diverse docket of municipal cases in a fast-paced district courtProviding legal counsel to city departments and public officialsQualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolLicensed to practice law in Michigan (or ability to become licensed promptly)2–5 years of legal experience preferred, but newly licensed attorneys are encouraged to applyExcellent research, writing, and analytical skillsProficiency with legal research platforms (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw)Strong verbal communication and negotiation skillsAbility to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneouslyHigh attention to detail and organizational abilityProfessional demeanor and ability to work both independently and collaborativelyStrong work ethicBenefits

This is a full-time, in-person salaried position. General office hours are 8am-5pm, Additional time may be required in the evenings or on weekends to keep up with client needs.
