Job Description\nAmerican Traveler is seeking a NICU RN with a current CA license, BLS and NRP certifications, and at least 2 years of recent Level III NICU experience.
Responsibilities\nPosition is in the NICU unit of a specialized children's and women's hospital\nNight shift with a 3x12 hours schedule, 19 : 00 to 07 : 30\nPatient population includes critically ill neonates in a Level III NICU\nFloating required to PICU and CTICU units as needed\nUses EPIC for documentation; prior experience preferred\nEvery other weekend or as needed weekend coverage is required\nDuties include critical care management of NICU patients, including specialized neonatal procedures and therapies\nRequired to float between NICU, PICU, and CTICU units based on census and hospital need\nEPIC training modules (approximately 8 hours) must be completed pre-start\nUp to 5 days of RTO may be approved, but no RTO is permitted on 11 / 28 or 12 / 21-23\nFirst-time travelers are accepted if they have the required NICU experience\nLocals are accepted at a local pay rate for those living within 50 miles\nOnly one professional reference from the last 2 years is required\nCandidates with any disciplinary action (Nursys hits) or prior perm employment at the facility will not be considered
Requirements\nActive CA RN license in hand\nMinimum of 2 years recent Level III NICU experience required\nBLS and Advanced NRP certifications required\nExperience in PICU and CTICU settings due to float requirements\nProficiency with EPIC EMR documentation system preferred\nMust have skills in phototherapy, gavage / tube feeding, blood product administration, PICC and peripheral line management, anti-seizure meds, caffeine, vasopressors, neonatal abstinence care, phlebotomy, Bubble CPAP, HFNC, and ventilators\nNo prior permanent employment at the facility
