The Position
The Material Handling Coordinator is responsible for the physical and administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods, and rejects unsatisfactory items as necessary. Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped. Post weights and shipping charges, and prepare goods for final shipment. Examines, stocks, and distributes materials to inventory and manufacturing lines. May prepare kitting packages for assembly production. Works within standard operating procedures and / or scientific methods with a moderate degree of supervision. Note : This position includes shipping and receiving clerks.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities :
- Performs Material Handling Technician functions at an advanced level.
- May require specific training and / or certification and may develop and apply advanced skills that are appropriate for the position.
- May adapt procedures, processes, tools equipment and techniques to meet the more complex requirements of the position.
- Effectively flex between operations.
- Duties are generally routine but may include non-routine tasks.
- Resolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex and non-routine issues to higher levels.
- Responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the processes and quality system and achieving quality objectives through daily actions.
- May manage the release of deliveries in Exacta through the allocation process.
- May correct order issues as needed to ensure the consistent flow of the process.
- Communicate or resolve inventory issues as needed to ensure the consistent flow of the process.
- Interface with internal customers as needed.
- Adhere to company and departmental cultural expectations.
- Effectively collaborate and work with team(s).
- Manage the process as needed.
- May coordinate the functions of shipping, receiving, and / or inventory, possibly working with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
- May conduct audits to monitor inventory level and to determine status of current orders and to forecast needs for future orders.
- Specialized knowledge generally of particular area, system or equipment.
- May on occasion, do the job of a Process Specialist as a backup.
Who You Are :
High School diploma or equivalent.1 year of related experience.Thorough understanding of the principles and applications of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO 9001.Computer skills with competency using standard software packages (Word and Excel).Experience in SAP or other inventory systems.Good oral and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.Be able to perform basic math calculations.Must be willing to work on Second Shift Hours : 1 : 30 pm - 10 : 00 pm.Pay transparency : The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indianapolis is $37,200 - $69,200 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
