American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry unit with strong telemetry and cardiac drip experience, requiring a NC or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a busy Cardiac Telemetry Unit providing care to cardiac and stroke patientsPatient assignments involve pre and post-procedure cardiac patients, cardiac drips, pacemaker and defibrillator care, and post-interventional casesCare for patients with diagnoses including unstable angina, CHF, dysrhythmias, new CVA and TIA, and low risk chest painTypical nurse to patient ratios are 1 : 5–6 and assignments can quickly turnoverUnit uses telemetry, pulse oximetry, high flow O2, non-rebreather masks, and BiPAP for chronic useEMR : Dimensions (Epic) with Pyxis and SBAR systems in use12-hour night shifts from 18 : 45 to 07 : 15, with every other weekend, 2 Mondays, and 2 Fridays per 6-week scheduleTravelers must float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals as neededAssignment length 13–26 weeks availableResponsibilities include caring for patients post-cardiac intervention, titrating drips, and managing admissions and dischargesUnit supports up to 78–90 patient turnovers a week, with help from a team leadUnit houses COVID-positive patients, including some on opti-flow and BiPAP during surgesUnit orientation is 36 hours; attendance required every day of week oneNavy blue or white scrubs required; jackets must match scrubsMust work 2 out of 3 major holidays; no vacation or RTO allowed during the first week or holidaysBlock scheduling is not permittedCandidates must not have worked as a PERM / PRN / EP staff at specified health systems in the last 12 months; facility rehire approval required if previously employedLocal candidates are accepted at a different rate based on address within 50 milesTravel pairs allowed only if assigned to different units\n \n Requirements\n
