The Senior Operations Manager oversees and enhances field operations by managing multiple cost centers or a single, high-impact cost center, while leading and supporting Operations Managers, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and driving continuous improvement. This role focuses on operational efficiency, staff development, quality assurance, and budget management while fostering strong relationships with customers and ensuring exceptional patient care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Operational Efficiency : Optimize daily operations to boost productivity and cut costs.
  • Performance Monitoring : Track and analyze performance data to ensure area goals are met.
  • Staffing Management : Supervise hiring and training to maintain a skilled and adequately staffed team.
  • Quality Assurance : Enforce quality control procedures to uphold high standards of patient care.
  • Budget Management : Track and manage the operational budget to maintain financial efficiency.
  • Crisis Management : Create and implement strategies to address operational emergencies and operational disruptions.

Physical Requirements :

  • Must be physically able to operate a variety of vehicles and equipment as required to meet the essential job functions of an EMS provider.
  • Involves bending, sitting, kneeling, moving, and lifting patients and equipment.
  • Must be able to drive / ride in ambulance for extended periods of time without issue.
  • Physical agility is necessary to lift and move patients safely.
  • Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Bachelor degree preferred (Business Management or equivalent) or 5 years' experience in an EMS Management position.
  • Approximately 5-7 years recent years of recent EMS experience as an Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic.
  • Must have proof of valid motor vehicle operating license, with continued safe driving history.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, written, oral or diagnostic reports.
  • Certified EMT / Paramedic License for your state of employment.
  • NREMT specific certification with ability to obtain reciprocity is required prior to start date.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (AHA) or ALS (American Red Cross) certification recommended
  • Paramedics and CCP only.
  • Preferred Skills and Competencies :

  • Experience overseeing multiple cost centers with a focus on strategic resource management.
  • Strong time management and prioritization abilities.
  • Experience with Fleetio, Operative IQ, Samsara and Traumasoft systems for operational oversight.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams while fostering accountability.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
