Position Overview
The Staff Camp Director serves as the live-in Resident Assistant (RA) for the seasonal staff community at the Summit Bechtel Reserve. This role focuses on creating and maintaining a clean, safe, and supportive living environment for all seasonal staff residing in Staff Camp.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as main contact and support for seasonal staff living in Staff Camp.
- Conduct daily facility checks; report maintenance, cleanliness, and supply needs.
- Coordinate with Base Camp on trash, supplies, and general upkeep.
- Address staff concerns professionally, ensuring confidentiality on personal matters.
- Assist with conflict resolution and roommate issues; collaborate with HR and hiring managers.
- Support camp setup / takedown and promote a positive, inclusive camp culture
- Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
- Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
- Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
- Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook
Qualifications
Minimum age : 21+Valid U.S. driver's license and able to obtain a Summit Driving PermitPrior experience in residence life, camp housing, or staff leadership preferredExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsWilling to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communicationPhysical & Practical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift / move up to 70 poundsComplete the Annual Health and Medical Record , including height / weight guidelinesHousing : 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform : Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours : 45-55Desired Traits
