An established and growing organization in the life sciences sector is seeking a Senior Income Tax Analyst to join its tax team! This position offers broad exposure across corporate tax, including federal and state compliance, ASC 740 tax provision, and indirect tax reporting.

Key Responsibilities :

Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Prepare and review federal and state corporate income tax returns, extensions, and estimated payments.
  • Support quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision calculations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and disclosures.
  • Manage indirect tax compliance (sales & use, property, VAT), including filings, audits, and exemption certificates.
  • Maintain and update tax depreciation schedules, and perform state apportionment and nexus analyses.

Tax Research & Advisory

  • Conduct research on federal, state, and local tax laws; monitor legislative updates and assess their potential impact.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external advisors on tax filings, audits, and notices.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests, providing timely and accurate documentation.
  • Process Improvement & Controls

  • Ensure the accuracy of tax-related general ledger accounts and financial reporting.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline tax operations and increase efficiency.
  • Maintain organized, well-documented records of tax filings, workpapers, and supporting schedules.
  • Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in income tax, either in public accounting or a corporate tax department.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Familiarity with income tax provisions (ASC 740) and compliance processes.
  • Active CPA license.
  • Experience with indirect tax compliance and research.
  • Exposure to SOX controls and public company reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency with fixed asset systems and tax depreciation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in Life Sciences or a similarly regulated industry preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree in Taxation or Accounting.
  • Experience with tax provision and compliance software (e.g., OneSource Tax Provision, OneSource Income Tax).
  • Familiarity with fixed asset systems such as Sage Fixed Assets.
  • Experience in a publicly traded company or with SEC reporting requirements.
  • Strong understanding of SOX compliance and internal controls related to tax.
  • Exposure to international tax or VAT compliance.
  • Proven project management skills and experience leading process improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
