AC Engineers are responsible for providing dimensional documents to production personnel, reviewing the As-Built dimensional data, providing data interpretation as compared to the approved engineering drawings and archiving the dimensional data per contractual requirements. AC Engineers perform dimensional surveillances, foundation inspections and serve as the Quality Assurance oversight of dimensional accuracy of the ship build from start to completion. AC Engineers utilize various surveying methods including Laser Tracker, Scanners and Total Stations to capture, collect and analyze dimensional data. The information gathered is used to develop reports and for providing recommendations for improving overall production efficiency. AC Engineers support the development of dimensional data collection processes, evaluate trends for areas of improvement and provide solutions to out of tolerance structural assemblies. AC Engineers monitor compliance with quality assurance / accuracy control work instructions and procedures, provide measurement training to production personnel and make improvements to measurement methods, techniques and processes. AC Engineering is under the direction of the Senior Accuracy Control Engineer and is an integral part of the Quality Assurance Department.
