- Serve as a Network Engineer - Virtualization Specialist supporting network build out and deployments to the C2BMC Test
- Use SDDC Manager to patch, upgrade and provide overall system maintenance
- Configure distributed stateful firewalling, NAT, load balancing and micro segmentation using NSX
- Design, install, upgrade and migrate storage using VMware vSAN
- Migrate virtual machines and workloads from deprecated versions of vSphere to VMware Cloud
- Work on complex assignments and perform a wide range of VMware system administration activities with little to no direct supervision
- Provide root-cause analysis for recurring or critical problems
- Work closely with a team of system administrators, network engineers, and cybersecurity administrators to maintain a high-quality test environment for the Government customer
- Perform vulnerability remediation and mitigations to reduce cybersecurity risks and ensure DoD compliance
- Conduct daily system monitoring, system backup and restoral, and application upgrades to ensure optimal and continuous system operations
- Document necessary system changes and actions in appropriate systems of record to ensure historical data is captured per customer and mission requirements
- Advise Government customer on system status, optimization and improvement efforts in accordance with program objectives and design baselines as needed
- Use REMEDY ticketing system to report, track and document problem and resolution life-cycle actions on faulty systems
- Work collaboratively in a team environment with other network engineers as well as independently on large field projects

Requirements
Education / Training :
Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering or science discipline preferredActive DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex : Security+) requiredCisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA) certification preferredVMware Certified Technical Associate - Data Center Virtualization (VCTA), VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) , VCAP Design, VCAP Deploy or VCDX-DCV Certification preferredExperience :
10+ years of general (full-time) work experience7+ years of directly related experienceyears of experience working in a management or leadership roleExperience in Internet Protocols (e.g. DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSL), firewall configuration and troubleshooting requiredPrevious experience writing and presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools requiredDeep understanding of Foundational VCF Infrastructure including Virtualization (vSphere), Networking (NSX) and Storage (vSAN) requiredFundamental understanding of how traffic flows through logical routers with the ability to implement these concepts in an NSX environment requiredExperience creating and configuring virtual distributed switches requiredPreferred Experience With :
PIM, L2 and L3 multicast and type I encryption devicesVXLAN, Juniper Apstra, VMware Aria and RHEL AnsiblePython or Powershell programming and scriptingSecurity :
