Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Machining CNC Engineer to join our world-class team at a leading global aerospace supplier. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of CNC programming, CAM software, and 5-axis machining techniques. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and implement CNC machining programs for complex aerospace components using advanced CAM software
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including process sheets, setup instructions, and tool lists
- Collaborate with design engineers, quality assurance teams, and production staff to ensure manufacturability and compliance with aerospace industry standards
- Analyze and troubleshoot CNC machining issues, providing timely solutions to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules
- Conduct process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, and optimize material utilization
- Program and operate 5-axis CNC machines, ensuring precise execution of complex machining operations
- Develop and implement best practices for CNC programming and machining processes
- Train and mentor junior engineers and machine operators on CNC programming techniques and advanced machining strategies
- Participate in new product introduction (NPI) projects, providing manufacturing input during the design phase
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and quality control procedures
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in CNC technology and machining techniques, recommending improvements to existing processes
- Collaborate with tooling engineers to design and implement custom fixturing and tooling solutions
- Perform regular maintenance and calibration of CNC machines to ensure optimal performance
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing and Six Sigma projects
- Participate in technical reviews and provide expert guidance on complex machining challenges
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related fieldMinimum of 5 years of experience in CNC programming and machining, preferably in the aerospace industryProficiency in CAM software, such as Mastercam, CATIA, or Siemens NXExpert knowledge of G-code programming and machine control systemsExtensive experience with 5-axis CNC machining techniques and strategiesStrong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)Familiarity with aerospace materials, including titanium, aluminum alloys, and high-temperature alloysExperience with CNC machine brands such as DMG MORI, Mazak, or HaasExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departmentsDemonstrated leadership experience in mentoring and training team membersKnowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
