Medical Science Liaison, GI Team, working remotely, based in Atlanta, GA., Nashville, Tampa, FL
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will support the Medical Affairs team. Primary responsibilities of this position include delivering scientific presentations, developing advisory presentation content, supporting clinical trials, and assisting with sales training. The MSL will leverage existing contacts with Key Opinion Leaders and relevant clinics in the region while further developing corporate relationships and partnerships. Additionally, the MSL will build and maintain a comprehensive understanding of customer needs, field training, and support.
It is expected that the MSL will work autonomously within the Medical Affairs department. Support at national and regional meetings, as well as corporate presentations and responsibilities, will also be required.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify, develop, and maintain long-term collaborative relationships with opinion leaders.Maintain clinical, scientific, and technical expertise in disease state areas.Identify and maintain knowledge of competitive tests and competitors.Collaborate with the scientific team to identify potential studies and authors and facilitate discussions with opinion leaders.Respond to and document unsolicited medical requests for information on Castle products and development programs.Facilitate investigator-sponsored trials and provide the medical / clinical teams with feedback and insights from trial leaders.Prepare and deliver scientific presentations both locally and nationally.Staff the booth at all trade shows where Sales is present to engage in scientific discussions.Collaborate with sales operations and training departments to implement field training.Adhere to corporate SOPs and comply with legal and regulatory guidelines governing scientific interactions with physicians and healthcare professionals.Collaborate with the clinical services team on site identification and feasibility studies.Embrace and demonstrate Castle’s culture of integrity, focused execution, dedication to personal performance, and teamwork.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced degree, including but not limited to MD, PhD, PharmD, or RPh.Minimum of 5 years of previous MSL experience, with at least 3 years of experience working with Gastrointestinal physicians.Ability to travel frequently, including overnight stays.Strong written and oral communication skills.Self-starter with autonomous experience in working within a start-up environment.High level of scientific and clinical acumen.Understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance in interactions with the medical community.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in Esophageal Cancer or Barrett’s Esophagus is a plus.Rare disease experience is an additional benefit.TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Travel expectation is 60% or more at times with several overnights.Potential exposure to caustic, corrosive chemicals or bio-hazardous samples exists when in a laboratory area.SCHEDULE
A typical work schedule may occasionally include nights and weekends, with home-based work when not traveling.
