Tax Manager
CLF Asset Management is looking to hire a full-time Tax Manger. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tax Professional with experience in bookkeeping, tax returns, and compliance. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in growing our tax department, managing financial records, ensuring tax accuracy, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, tax laws, and industry regulations to help drive financial efficiency and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities :
Tax Preparation - Personal & Small Business Clients
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns accurately and on time
- Prepare Tax forms 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120-S
- Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Assist in tax planning and strategy to optimize tax liabilities
- Liaise with tax authorities on audits and inquiries when needed
Bookkeeping – Small Business Clients
Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entriesReconcile bank statements, financial accounts, and resolve discrepanciesManage small business payroll processes, including accurate and timely processing of payroll transactionsPrepare periodic financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysisCompliance
Ensure that the company’s financial practices comply with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., SEC, GAAP, IFRS, tax codes)Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for compliance audits and inspections.Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets and dataMonitor changes in regulatory environments and adapt policies as necessary.Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)2-5 years of experience in tax preparation, bookkeeping, and regulatory complianceProficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft ExcelStrong understanding of tax laws, financial regulations, and best practicesExcellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlinesStrong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with both internal teams and external stakeholders.Key Competencies
