Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a large hospital assignment requiring a NM or compact RN license and recent OR expertise.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a busy hospital Operating Room setting
  • Handles cases including neuro, ortho, transplants, robotics, and vascular procedures
  • 4x10 hour day shifts, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (06 : 30-17 : 00)
  • Weekend and holiday call required, with potential call back
  • Floating between departments or local locations within 20 miles is required
  • Epic EMR experience preferred but not required and can be trained on site
  • Direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation
  • Responsible for clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
  • Completion of patient population, procedure, and protocol education and competency testing as per unit standards
  • Pass / fail testing on Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia is not required for this specialty
  • No local candidates; must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
  • Previous permanent staff must wait one year before being considered for a traveler role
  • Scrub or dress code information will be provided upon hire

  • Active NM or compact state RN license required
  • BLS required from AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
  • Two years current large OR experience required
  • Must have completed at least one 13-week travel assignment
  • Ability to scrub required
  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
  • PALS and ACLS preferred
  • Ortho, EENT, or vascular experience is a plus
