Position : Senior Project Manager (Construction exp required!!!)

Location : 80% Remote, 20% Onsite (Central Alabama)

Salary : $95,000 - $110,000

Summary

The Senior Project Manager leads the project management team, driving profitability, efficiency, and strategic alignment across multiple large-scale woodworking projects. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and communicating with internal teams to ensure successful project execution and completion.

The ideal candidate is a disciplined, results-oriented leader with deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards under tight deadlines. This position requires the ability to make clear, timely decisions, enforce policies and procedures, and develop team members through structured coaching and delegation. Success in this role depends on integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to balance speed with quality in a structured, process-driven environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead all assigned projects from award to completion, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and profitability
  • Direct and align PMs and APMs on responsibilities, workflows, and performance expectations
  • Hold regular check-ins with PMs / APMs for progress updates, coaching, and issue resolution
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Production, and Installation teams for seamless execution
  • Monitor project schedules, milestones, and adherence to SOPs, including Work Order Date and Change Order management
  • Communicate proactively with clients to clarify requirements, manage expectations, and resolve issues
  • Review budgets, control expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities to improve profitability
  • Manage change orders, invoicing, billing accuracy, and expense reporting per company policy
  • Ensure financial data accuracy with Accounting; verify PB&S tagging and schedule alignment
  • Plan procurement, production, and shipment schedules to support timely installations
  • Confirm jobsite readiness and collaborate with Installation Team to address issues
  • Identify long-lead materials and plan for complex production timelines; coordinate field dimensions as needed
  • Review shop drawings for accuracy before customer approval and production release
  • Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide training, and ensure compliance with SOPs
  • Report critical updates and strategic recommendations to the Director of Project Management
  • Drive process improvements and efficiency initiatives across departments
  • Maintain high attention to detail while managing multiple large, complex projects
  • Delegate tasks effectively, guide APMs, and foster collaboration across PM teams
  • Education

  • Two-year degree, or higher, from a technical school, college or university is required
  • Relevant experience can be considered as an equivalent to a degree
  • Experience

  • Seven or more years’ experience within the woodworking, manufacturing, or construction industry is preferred
  • Extensive prior experience in and strong business knowledge of the construction and woodworking industry required.
