Security Specialist

Work you'll do
DU Security is responsible for the onsite security command center, all DU badging and access control administration and maintenance, surveillance cameras in multiple buildings and locations, emergency warning & and fire monitoring systems, maintaining relationships with federal, state, and local PD, fire and EMS responders, Crisis & Incident Management plans, onsite investigations and enforcing guest security guidelines. In this role, you will :
- Monitor and assist with security system badging programs to ensure single badge access exists throughout the DU campus infrastructure for employees with proper employee clearances. Issues photo ID access cards to Deloitte personnel and contractors.
- Determines and designates proper security clearances for secured areas within the campus.
- Serve as a technical expert in support of physical security systems. Works independently or as part of a team to monitor campus surveillance.
- Assist with maintaining uniform security standards and processes to meet local, regional, and national office facility requirements.
- Interact and collaborate with third-party contractors and vendor relationships (including the guard force)
- Assist with security investigations, when necessary.
- Work closely and collaborate with other DU stakeholders / internal groups
- Assist with various security-related pieces of training throughout the year for onsite security guard force, Benchmark staff, and DU-based professionals (i.e.. Business continuity, crisis management, and scenario-based exercises)
- Maintain relationships with local law enforcement, fire, and state / local agencies.
- Must be available for round-the-clock response, when necessary
- Assists and supports security-related projects
- Perform other job-related duties, as assigned
The successful candidate will possess :
Knowledgeable in a wide range of security-related areas, such as security access control, investigations in a corporate environment, background investigations, business continuity, physical security, crisis management, etc.Proficient with security access control application skills; Advanced video surveillance application (CCTV) skillsProficient Microsoft Office skillsAbility to provide exceptional client service by responding with a sense of urgency, practicality, accountability, integrity, and discretionStrong interpersonal skills; be able to articulate issues / concerns to guests / co-workers at every level. Do not shy away from difficult conversations.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsMust work well under pressure and maintain composure / demeanor during crisis situationsAbility to interface with public agencies and Firm leadershipAbility to work outside normal business hours including nights, weekends, holidays, etc.Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred, or a minimum of 6 years of combined experience in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, or Security related field required
