RN Nursery Job Details Location : Kankakee, IL 60901 Healthcare Setting : Level 2 Nursery (ICN), 30 beds Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract Start Date : November 10, 2025 End Date : February 9, 2026 Nursing Shift : 12-hour night shifts (5 : 00pm – 5 : 30am) Hours per Week : 36 guaranteed Scheduling : Block scheduling, every other weekend, rotating holidays Dress Code : Scrubs provided (shoes not worn outside required) Charting System : Epic EMR Estimated Weekly Salary : $1990-$2130 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or compact state BLS (American Heart Association) certification NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Level 2 nursery, ICN, or similar clinical setting Clinical proficiency in ICN level care, c-pap, monitors, IV / blood draws, blood glucose testing, hearing screens, vital signs, and delivery attendance Experience with Epic charting preferred RN Nursery Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to newborns, including those with respiratory distress, in a Level 2 nursery Monitor and assess infants using c-pap, high flow, and limited ventilator support for transfers Perform IV and blood draws, blood glucose testing, hearing screens, and vital sign monitoring Attend deliveries and provide immediate newborn care Collaborate with pediatric hospitalists, charge nurses, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR Follow all safety and infection control protocols Float to couplet care as needed based on census Apply now to join our healthcare team and make a difference in newborn nursing care in Kankakee, Illinois!
