The Role
We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Lead Material Technician to drive operational excellence in material handling and logistics coordination. This role is responsible for leading a team of material associates, ensuring timely and accurate movement of goods, maintaining inventory integrity, and supporting production needs. The ideal candidate is an innovative, data-driven leader with a passion for process optimization, team development, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and growth.
What You’ll Do
- Safety & Compliance : Enforce safety rules, report hazards, and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, including emergency procedures.
- Training & Development : Train new team members and maintain updated training records / matrix.
- Communication : Keep team informed of job changes, updates, and operational information to ensure smooth and safe workflow.
- Coordination & Oversight : Lead material associates in equipment operation and product shipment, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
- Inventory & Replenishment : Review replenishment sheets, follow up with relevant teams, and ensure stock availability for production.
- Documentation : Complete all required paperwork accurately and promptly; document activities as needed.
- Support & Leadership : Promote morale and teamwork, assist supervisors / managers, and lead rework material handling when necessary.
- Quality & Productivity : Meet / exceed standards using available resources and ensure cycle counts are completed.
Who You Are
High school diploma required.Minimum of 2 years of experience in material handling within an automotive or manufacturing environment.Strong written communication, mathematical aptitude, and analytical thinking skills.Solid technical understanding of manufacturing processes and machinery.Certified in color and / or appearance testing for product inspection.Proven organizational, leadership, and interpersonal communication abilities.Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.Possession of a valid Commercial Class A driver’s license is preferred.Forklift operator license certification required.Health, Safety, Physical & Travel Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, and move freely throughout office and plant environments.Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.Must be able to stand for 8 hours or more during a shift.Frequent physical activities including lifting, climbing, carrying, pulling, gripping, grasping, and reaching for 11–64% of the workday.Requires good hand-eye coordination.Potential exposure to chemicals and bloodborne pathogens.Must be able to perform standard computer-based tasks.Life at Emotiv
