About The Position

Job Title : Surgical Tech

Shift : 10 Hour Days

Hours per Shift : 10 hours

Experience : Minimum of 2 years

License : Active state license required

Certifications : BLS required

Must-Have :

Minimum of 2 years experience in primary scrubbing complex open heart procedures.

Description :

The team operates 2-3 rooms each day.

Average of 1-3 cases performed daily.

Common cases include CABG, valve repair / replacement, aortic dissections, and more.

Experience in congenital pediatric open heart surgeries is preferred but not mandatory.

The traveler will primarily scrub cases and assist in second circulating the room when not scrubbed in.

Precepting new staff is an expectation.

House supervisors are available 24 / 7.

On-call shifts for nights, weekends, and holidays are required but dependent on staffing levels.

If census is low, team members may be required to float within the department.

Surgical scrubs are provided, and personal locks are required for lockers.

Orientation includes mandatory education and specific training for the unit.
