Job Overview
The R&D Electrical Engineering Technician supports the engineers, performs prototype assembly and testing to support R&D new product development and other laboratory activities under the direction of R&D Engineers.
In addition, the R&D Electrical Engineering Technician supports the department with maintenance and management of equipment.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Perform bench development test functions and debug of designs.
- Provide technician supervision including assignments, training, technical support.
- Provide lab management, test equipment management, procurement of consumables.
- May supervise Electronic or lab technicians.
- Manage audit requirements such as wrist strap testing.
- Write, release and execute lab test protocols.
- Create and release test fixture documentation.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must have solid R&D lab experience with strong electronic backgroundSolid knowledge and experience with engineering practices and the use of industry standard test equipmentAbility to work through debug and problem resolutionUnderstanding of the theory behind testing and capable of creating verification documentsStrong knowledge and experience using oscilloscopes, emulators, logic analyzers, EMI receiversAbility to assemble and repair systems as well as boards and modulesAbility to communicate within their discipline and with others who are not as technically trainedStrong understanding of digital design to test and correct issuesSupervisory skills to assign tasks and provide management with status of schedulesMinimum Requirements
5+ years or equivalent experience that includes electronics and R&D experienceGood oral and written communication skillKnowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Important Notice : Protecting Your Information
