The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement high speed digital designs for new communication systems.
- Apply research and development skills to architect real-world products and capabilities from ideas and early prototypes.
- Stay apprised of current and future modem related hardware components including but not limited to mixed signal products, SoCs, FPGAs, ADCs, DACs, and high speed electrical and electro-optical transceivers and phys.
- Recommend digital architectures that optimize designs for performance and cost while balancing design for test and manufacturing.
- Support prototype unit build and test phases.
- Maintain detailed documentation of designs, test procedures, and results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and address technical challenges.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering roles involving complex electronic systems.Able to work with minimal direction as well collaboratively with cross functional team members.Experience with HDL (VHDL and / or Verilog).Strong understanding of FPGA physical constraints and timing closure.In-depth knowledge of digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms and communication theory (e.g., filter design, clock recovery, signal detection, channel estimation, and equalization).Experience in product schedule, cost, and delivery management.Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Preferred Qualifications
10 years of experience in engineering roles supporting complex electronic systems in the aerospace or high-end commercial markets.Familiarity with designing and coding for re-use, maintainability and scalability.Experience with scripting (Make / TCL / Python) for command line interface build infrastructure and code base project management.Experience with AMD / Xilinx Versal family of devices.Experience designing high-speed digital and mixed signal circuits, including analysis, simulation, test, problem-solving and part selection.Current Top Secret or TS / SCI Security clearance.Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.Compensation
Compensation ranges vary by location : CA applicants is $152,235.00-$213,127.95; CO applicants is $139,979.00-$195,969.90; WA applicants is $152,235.00-$213,127.95. Other site ranges may differ.
