We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Collections Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UCC's, loan recovery, creditor litigation, and overall collection law.
Responsibilities
- Handle litigation for delinquent loans, from filing suits to enforcing judgments.
- Draft pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and garnishment filings.
- Represent Hunter Finance in court hearings and bankruptcy matters.
- Negotiate settlements and payment plans with borrowers.
- Advise management on recovery strategies and file status.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact clients or practice areas.
Experience
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Active license in Michigan (multi-state bar admission preferred).Ability to manage high-volume caseloads across multiple jurisdictions.Prior in-house counsel experience within a finance or lending organization3–7 years of experience in creditor's rights, collections litigation, or retail installment contracts.Strong knowledge of post-judgment remedies.Excellent negotiation, drafting, and organizational skills.Exceptional writing skills with demonstrated experience in legal drafting and documentation.Previous legal administrative experience is preferred but not mandatory. Pay : $70,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
