Automotive Professor

Overview

Job Summary : Responsible to prepare and deliver coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to the college's Core Values, an understanding of culturally responsive teaching, and knowledge of the teaching field. Meet professional standards for faculty in accordance with college policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in accordance with the schedule of classes and follow the approved course descriptions and syllabi established by the Division faculty and administered by the Associate Dean / Director.
• Teaching assignments may be on one or more of the college's campuses or off-site locations and may include evening and weekend programs. Collin College is not hiring for online instruction at this time.
• May include Dual Credit courses.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures and Core Values.

Qualifications

Requirements : Associate degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of two (2) years of non-teaching work experience in automotive service. Appropriate Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification required for areas taught.

Supplemental Functions

Working conditions and physical demands

Sedentary work with occasional lifting or movement of objects; typical office environment. Requires talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking, and repetitive motions. Moderate physical effort and normal environmental conditions.

Additional information

The position is part-time as specified, with compensation per adjunct faculty and CE instructor rates. Employment opportunities may remain open during the academic year as needed.
