Position Summary
The residential monitor is an important member of A Safe Haven's residential services team. They are responsible for helping create a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for all residents across the housing programs. Each residential monitor will be assigned to a home program, such as Veterans, NPTS, Interim Family, or Recovery Home, where they will support day-to-day operations and engage with clients. In addition to their regular duties within their home program, every residential monitor will also be scheduled for at least one shift per week in a shared-space location, such as the front gate, courtyard monitor station, or front desk. This helps ensure consistent coverage and strengthens teamwork across the entire facility.
Responsibilities
Program-Based Responsibilities
Monitor resident activities and behavior to ensure safety, respect, and adherence to program rules.Complete shift documentation accurately and timely.Assist residents with basic needs, support requests, and room checks.Communicate with program managers about incidents, concerns, or follow-up needs.Support client intake, discharges, and orientations.Shared-Space Responsibilities (1+ shifts / week)
Greet and check in guests, monitor visitor access, and oversee facility entry points.Ensure the security of common areas (courtyard, lobby, gate) and respond to incidents professionally.Provide general support and coordination with the broader residential monitor team.Promote a welcoming, service-oriented environment for all residents and guests.Matrix Reporting Structure
Residential Monitors are part of a matrix model, reporting to :Program Manager (Programmatic Oversight)Oversees the RM's responsibilities in their assigned home program, including schedule, compliance, and resident engagement.
Residential Services Supervisor (Functional Oversight)Coordinates shared-space shift assignments, ensures consistency in service delivery, and leads teamwide professional development.

High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree or related certification preferred.Previous experience in shelter, residential, or supportive housing settings a plus.Strong communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.Must be reliable, compassionate, and able to model trauma-informed practices.Additional details
