Job Overview

WilliamSmith Fireplaces of SC LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Fireplace Construction Manager to oversee the installation of fireplaces from rough-in to cap-out. This role requires strong coordination between sales representatives, installation crews, and on-site customer project managers to ensure smooth installations and exceptional customer service. Whether you're an experienced project manager or a motivated individual eager to learn, we offer the training and support to help you excel in this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Job Understanding & Preparation

Coordinate with Sales Representatives to understand job requirements

  • Conduct initial site inspections in collaboration with on-site customer project managers
  • Review installation manuals and codes for gas and wood-burning fireplaces
  • Identify and correct errors or omissions in estimates
  • Job Site Readiness & Scheduling
  • Ensure job site meets all pre-installation requirements

  • Confirm clearances and coordinate installation schedules with customers, general contractors, or builders
  • Schedule installation crews and ensure proper understanding of tasks
  • Organize and stage installation materials for crew pick-up
  • Conduct routine job site visits for long-term projects
  • Post-Installation Review & Follow-Up
  • Review installation documentation, notes, and photos from install crews

  • Conduct post-installation inspections as needed
  • Identify follow-up actions and ensure completion
  • Schedule any necessary additional work
  • Qualifications

  • 3+ years of sales experience in a commercial construction-related role
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Prior construction experience required
  • Ability to read and comprehend installation and end-user manuals
  • National Fireplace Institute (NFI) certification is a plus
  • Technical & Supervisory Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications and iPad use
  • Willingness to learn internal operations system
  • Experience supervising and managing installation crews, including subcontractors
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both English & Spanish-speaking subcontractors
  • Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
