Visual Impairment Teacher - Special Education

This is a full-time position with responsibilities including planning and providing appropriate learning experiences based on the district's AKS curriculum, creating a conducive environment for student development, delivering direct or specially designed instruction in line with IEPs, collaborating with regular educators, and analyzing student assessments to tailor instruction.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in an applicable field from a PSC-approved institution, Georgia certification in the relevant field (certification in Orientation and Mobility is highly preferred), previous teaching experience, and experience working with visually impaired students is highly desirable. Skills required encompass knowledge of the GCPS curriculum, instructional techniques, technology integration, and understanding of IDEA and due process.
Physical demands involve lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, fine motor skills, and visual acuity. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
