Are you a HOMAG expert (maybe an Industrial Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer) with experience in plant layout or operational efficiency for woodworking machinery, commercial casework, or cabinetry, specifically with HOMAG machines? Are you "that HOMAG guru" who knows CNC machines and WoodWop (and maybe even Biesse too) like the back of your hand? Are you an Industrial Engineer who sees optimized plant layouts when you close your eyes and imagine process flows to increase reduce downtime and operational inefficiency? This company specializes in high-quality, precision-built commercial furniture, casework, and cabinetry. With a growing investment in advanced manufacturing technology, the company is focused on enhancing efficiency, reducing waste, and optimizing workflows. Reporting to the new VP of Operations, this newly created role (for an Industrial Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or similar) will be pivotal in shaping the future of the company's production capabilities. The right person will lead plant layout design and influence strategic decisions to optimize for scalability and efficiency. "Perfect on paper" would have HOMAG machining experience too!
What You Will Be Doing :
- Be the go-to person for all things HOMAG - error codes, machine down, technical and mechanical problems
- CNC layout optimization & process flow to reduce bottlenecks and improve efficiency.
- Utilize data-driven analysis (e.g., Amper system) to monitor machine utilization and identify inefficiencies.
- Provide high-level technical expertise on machine operations, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and implement process standardization.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste and improve production efficiency.
- Analyze and recommend machinery investments as the company scales operations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, engineering, and leadership teams to drive process improvements.
What You’ll Need :
Titles are not important, if you're an expert in HOMAG machines and / or plant layout with HOMAG machines, we'd love to speak with you!!Expertise with CNC - HOMAG machines specifically (plus if you have Biesse as well)Background in Lean Manufacturing, process improvement, and data analysisExperience in CNC for cabinetry, casework, or woodworking manufacturingProficiency in OEE, downtime analysis, and process optimization toolsAbility to balance strategic planning with hands-on problem-solving (50 / 50 split between strategy & floor work)Strong collaboration skills, working closely with production and leadership teamsDegree in Industrial Engineering is a plus, not requiredBig Plus if You Have :
Familiarity with Amper (machine monitoring software) or similar tracking tools.Experience with Creo / ProE, AutoCAD, or Cabinet Vision.Exposure to WoodWOP (HOMAG software) or B-Suite (Biesse software).Experience in plant layout design and machine integration.Lean Six Sigma certificationWhat You’ll Get in Return :
