We are looking for an Associate Value Stream Director - Operations Lead to support the Power & Controls business unit. In this role, you will serve as the primary operations leader and primary point of contact for Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality across the product life cycle within the assigned Value Stream. You will shape both tactical and strategic operating plans, contribute to business plans and proposals, and drive key program and project management initiatives. By establishing effective control and reporting systems, you will ensure operational excellence while partnering closely with program leaders and external customers. Additionally, you will lead, mentor, and develop Value Stream Program Operations Leaders to strengthen the team and sustain long-term success.
This is an Onsite position based in Rockford, IL and will require 25% travel (primarily domestic).
What You Will Do
Responsible point of contact for the shipset of products within the assigned Value Stream(s) for production planning, supply chain, production, quality and logistics to meet program milestones.
Successfully transition product to the factory, support on-time delivery of high-quality products, support rate-readiness activities, and achieve cost and sales targets.
Work directly with program operations leads and the cross functional IPT for multiple programs.
Manage a team of Operations Lead members.
Support and facilitate Collins Management System (CMS) cadence review processes. Oversee Manufacturing Transition and Build Plan creation and maintenance.
Provide Customer interface in support of Value Stream operational performance and collaboration with Supply Chain.
Establish key elements of strategic and tactical operation plans for program management.
Formulate business plans, proposals, and projections based on analysis of program performance. Ensure alignment with the customer program objectives.
Support reporting systems to monitor progress of program against plans and other metrics. Prepare forecast and status of monthly operational performance.
Partner with VSL and IPTs to guide development of long-term business goals and objectives, to include designing and implementing the strategies and tactics, throughout the program lifecycle.
Develops and reviews short- and long-term organizational goals and objectives to ensure alignment with broader organizational strategies.
Delivers operational and financial objectives for all functional areas, as it relates to responsible programs, to plan ahead to manage and mitigate risks to the business.
Represents the organization to internal and external stakeholders.
Travel in support of the business as required.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Product Support, Supply Chain, Contracts and / or Logistics management is preferred.
Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred
Advanced degree, MBA, or Supply Chain and Operations Management is preferred.
Experience with lean manufacturing and ACE / CORE process techniques is preferred.
Aerospace Industry experience is preferred.
Experience with external customer interface is preferred.
Operational understanding of manufacturing, decision point and engineering processes is preferred.
Production configuration management, planning principles and ERP system tools (i.e. SAP), O365 suite is preferred
